No, I’m not talking about Christmas or New Year’s Day. This event comes once in a lifetime. It’s the event when a person determines their fate. It sets the ball rolling for their future. I’m talking about…

…college acceptance letters!

Over the past few weeks, my friends have been posting the acceptance letters of their kids. Some of them it is the first-born and the family is exuberant. Others it is the second child and they are just as excited. Some students have receive scholarships for their high school efforts. You can hear the sighs of relief the parents are exhaling. You know they are thinking “Whew…we have a plan!”

I remember when I was accepted to school. I had the choice between 2 or 3 (I can’t remember). I was flipping back and forth. This was a HUGE decision. It was the first decision that was solely placed on my shoulders. I knew what I wanted to do, but I was afraid I would look like a copy-cat. So, I called my sister and asked her permission if I could attend the same school where she was attending.  She was thrilled and my future was put into motion.

To this day, I’m still happy with my choice. I made very good friends there. I had a HELLUVA lot of FUN. Oh, and I learned a bit too.

Cheers to the kids making their marks and looking to their futures.  Thomas and Lucy are not far behind you.

Guiding Card of the Day:  Play – And that’s what I did all day today. Whew!
